
Amelia Turner Shelton, age 81, of Malvern passed away on December 24, 2015 at Three Rivers Healthcare Rehabilitation and Medical Center in Marked Tree, AR. Amelia and her husband Don moved to Malvern, AR in 1972. She was born on October 11, 1934, in Lincoln, AL, the daughter of the late Natus and Adelle Storey. She was married to Don Shelton on January 25th, 1959. Amelia obtained her Registered Nursing degree from Carraway Methodist School of Nursing in Birmingham, AL and worked at several hospitals throughout her career. Her last job as a nurse was at the Hot Spring County Public Health Department where she retired in 1992. She was a member of Rockport United Methodist Church. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, sisters; Nellie Haynes, Kitty Johns, Jean Walker, and grandson Kyle Shelton.
Amelia is survived by her sons, Lee Shelton (Bonnie) of Cordova, TN, and Rob Shelton (Tonja) of Southaven, MS, grandchildren; Emily Ziebarth, Donald, Anna, Jonathan, Alex, Jaxon, Madelyn, Caitlin, Marissa, and great grandson Zeek Ziebarth. She is also survived by her sisters Holly Thurman of Arley, AL and Phila Sheene of Newport News, VA.
A private service was held with her sons and their families. Interment was at Rockport Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were entrusted to Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern. Guests may sign the online register at www.atkinsonfuneralhome.net
